We believe all young Australians should have the opportunity to volunteer overseas. To ensure the cost isn’t a barrier to becoming a volunteer, we have a range of Lattitude scholarships available. The scholarships will either assist with the Lattitude Placement Fee for 2013 (which is $3400), or help with flights.
The following scholarships are available:
- 25% discount on the placement fee, saving $850
- 50% discount on the placement fee, saving $1700
- 75% discount on the placement fee, saving $2550
- sponsored flights, saving up to $1578
Priority will be given to those applying for placements in the Asia/Pacific region. Scholarship applications will be assessed against personal circumstances and applicants will be notified of the outcome via email in August, after interviews have been conducted with all applicants for 2013 placements.

Things to consider
The flight cost is the biggest variable to consider when planning your budget. Flights closer to home are much cheaper and help keep prices to a minimum. For example, an all-inclusive cost for a placement in the Pacific (Fiji, Vanuatu) is approximately $5,000. Alternatively an all-inclusive cost for a placement in Aisa (China, India, Vietnam) is approximately $6,000.
Additionally, a small amount of pocket money is paid for placements in China and Vietnam which can also assist in financing your time away.
